A 3.2 Feet tall Swamiji's Idol was scanned with Industrial Grade Scanner. All areas where the data couldn't be captured (due to multiple reasons like space availability, access to features, undercuts etc.) were re-created using digital sculpting methods. for e.g. The entire back side of Swamiji was digitally recreated.
The ask was to scale it down to a height of 4 Inches (a ratio of 9:1) so that they can create a mould for mass production of smaller size. We then used SLA 3D printing method to get a 4 inches prototype of Swamiji.
It was a very unique experience and we thank the Aashram and the Trust to allow us to carry out the scanning process in the wee hours of the night.
